Glossary: Silver PointA very early form of drawing on to a prepared surface. Many grounds were used one of the most interesting being spittle and urine. Nowadays were are not forced to use these methods (thank goodness) and a common method is to paint a layer of watercolour down on to a piece of paper and then cover it with a layer of Chinese white. This can then be drawn into with a metal stylus. The results are very interesting and different. |
