Glossary: WatercolourA pigment mixed with a binding agent. It is then applied with water to give a transparent effect. The paint is traditionally applied with a brush or a sprat. The paint is absorbed by the paper and is permanent except for potential fading in light. Modern colours are much better than Victorian paints that had a tendency to fade to greens and blues. The first colour to fade is always red. |
