Glossary: Futurism

Futurism was a very Italian art movement and was amoung the most vehement in its denunciation of the past. Any one who could say "we will free Italy from her innumerable museums which cover her like countless cemetaries" had a point to make. To the futurists art should celebrate technology and innovation with the racing car being more "beautiful than the Victory of Semothrace". They had a point.
