Glossary: Interiors

The practise of painting interiors with or without figures. There is a long historical tradition going back to the renaissance and virtually every age produced interiors that are iconic. One of the great Dutch artists Vermeer, painted some of the most recognisable works of all times, but my favourite has to be David Hockney's interior "Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy" painted in 1970. This is held by the Tate and is as exciting an interior as I know of.
