Glossary: Picture size

We detail the size of each picture with height before width in both inches and millimetres. Where the painting is unframed we have measured to the largest possible place that could be exposed on framing either with or without a mount. Where the picture is shown as being framed, then the size given is the area of the work that is exposed and visible. By necessity, some small amount of the work must be lost 1. under a mount or 2. the rebate of a frame in respect of an oil painting.
