A recently harvested field with stooks Fine watercolour of a recently harvested field with corn stooks waiting to be gathered in. This is a lovely painting in the lyrical tradition of English water colouring. The movement of the sheaves and the trees is a testament to the artists many skills. The picture is watercolour based with an Indian pen outline to accentuated the details. This method of harvesting disappeared after the last war and is a good historic record of a method of farming not seen these days. This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted
