The pull is strong, indicating an early strike before the block degraded. The picture is initialled in the block, and signed and inscribed. Good margins all round. A fine piece. Unfortunately, we can't be sure whether it is a grey or a red squirrel.

Died: 1995
Neville Bertram was a sculptor and painter who was trained in Liverpool by the eminent sculptor/artist Tyson Smith. He exhibited at the R.A. etc and his work is in collections around the world. He produced a series of woodblock prints in the 1950's.
