A gouache of a standing abstract figure in shades of yellow brown and red
Anthony Brown exhibited at the first Surrealist exhibition in London in 1936. He was a ground breaking artist who never received due recognition in his own life time. This was a lot to do with his concentrating on teaching rather than exhibiting. This strong image dates from the 1950's and was purchased from his widow. He was very influence by Henry Moore who he knew and admired.
Executed in the 1950's
