Derelict watermill by a river with out buildings and many trees Wonderful watercolour of a disused watermill and river. This painting is an extremely fine example of what is known as pure watercolour technique. It allows the artist to paint directly on to the paper without using a drawn outline. Layers of pale colours are used to produce a delicate picture of great tonal quality. Here we can see the results with marvellous reflections in the water and pastel shades in trees and buildings. A splendid painting! This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted
