Boats on the Humber with corn stooks in field Splendid painting with a loose wash style capturing a moment in the mid 1940's. The picture was first outlined with an ink brush and then washed over with solutions of watercolour with the artist at all times moving from light to dark. Then further ink is applied to give detail and form, this being particularly evident on the corn stooks and the hills on the far side of the river. This picture has been stored in a portfolio for 60 years and we are reasonably confidant that these are the original colours painted and that there is virtually no fading.
