A group of fine Georgian Town Houses in Bath A lovely watercolour painted in muted tones of blue grey and brown washes. The picture was sketched out in watercolour with applied pen and ink detailing over to give structural detail. The paint has been applied rapidly using broad brush strokes allowing it to move fluidly over the paper with merging at the margins where two colours meet. If you study the picture using the zoom facility, you will be able to see how the artist has worked from light to dark and given that the work has been stored in a portfolio for 60 years, we are reasonably sure that these are the original colours painted. Noel Brannan recorded many features of the city in great detail. Here he has painted a street scene, full of fine Georgian features, a fine historic record of a wonderful group of town houses which we hope have changed little in the last 60 years. However we have been unable to locate the street and any information would be much appreciated. Painted while the artist was resident in Bath
