A busy street scene with numerous figures walking around A very fine watercolour of a buy street scene. This painting was produced by painting a wash of watercolour over a drawn pencil base with a later application of ink lines to highlight the shapes and architectural forms of the street scene. The paint has been carefully applied to avoid excessive blending of colours at the margins thereby retaining the integrity of each individual building. The figures form a fleeting impression but use the zoom and see details like the mans scarf brilliantly portrayed. This picture was stored in a portfolio for nearly 50 years and is as fresh now as the day it was painted showing no signs of fading or discolouration. We have not identified where this scene it is but it could possible be Edinburgh. Any input gratefully received.
