Canal scene viewed over a metal wall looking towards a range of buildings Very interesting expressionist painting of a canal scene. The artist has chosen an unusual approach in as much that the bottom quarter of the painting is an iron wall. This sits happily with the artists in that he seeks to depict not objective reality but subjective emotions. This he has achieved with the use of bright primary colours showing the rusting and general dilapidation of the area. A very thought provoking work.
