2 carts in an open barn and a stone knife grinder Splendid painting of the interior of an open barn. This is a very strong composition with the viewer being drawn into the picture. Here, the artist has painted a series of colour washes on to a dry paper base restricting the blending of paint at the margins thereby retaining the integrity of each element of the painting. Over this he has added thinned Indian ink to highlight features and give structure to the composition. A lovely work of art. This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted
