Coquet island and lighthouse with attached houses - now leased to the RSPB Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Lovely watercolour of Coquet island and light house. This impressionist painting was executed on the spot with fast brush strokes on to a wet paper surface. The result is a fine image in pastel shades of blues and browns. The limited palette makes for a very atmospheric painting full of life and interest. This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted

| About the artist
Born: 1888
Died: 1964
Brannan was a wonderful draughtsman who sketched his native Lincolnshire. He studied at the Lincoln School of art and was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy. His work is in the Usher Gallery in Lincoln and many private collections. His two sons Noel, and Peter were both professional painters.
