Derelict wooden vessel lying in a creek with the tide out
Lovely evocative watercolour in monochrome tones of a rotting wooden hulled boat. The artist has used a brush with Indian ink to draw the scene and then added the wash to give substance and shadowing. It is well worth studying this painting with the zoom facility as it shows in perfect detail the artists mastery of line drawing. The depiction of the old nails is joy. A fine and sensitive painting. This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted
