The doctor's waiting room with various figures gathered around a small open fire Wonderful sketch of a doctors waiting room with a group of people waiting to be examined. The painting is in gouache over watercolour giving it an opaque finish with flat bocks of colour. The human characteristics are captured without the need for detail, their postures speaking for themselves. We can all feel for the small boy being comforted by his mother and those of us old enough will remember just how cold waiting rooms like this could be. In those days you were not encouraged to hang around and comfort was low on the list of priorities!
