A fishing trawler moored by the quay with the monument at the mouth of the harbour entrance in the background Fine watercolour of a trawler docked in Grimsby harbour. This picture has been outlined in pen and then painted over with a series of increasingly dark washes. There is a great economy of work here with the sky being represented by the underlying paper and the clouds indicated by dark washes. The monochromatic nature of the painting adds to the mood and atmosphere of the scene. This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted
