A harvested field with corn stooks by a river Lovely pastoral etching of a recently harvested field. This picture was produced on the spot from a prepared copper plate that was etched and taken back to the studio for printing. There is a great immediacy about this work with rapid and deep strokes of the burin to establish the detail. We would refer you to the Glossary for a detailed description of the process of etching. A fine work with extensive hatching giving good shadows and light especially in the central tree. The work is initialled in the plate and has full margins.
