Road and bridge beside a river with warehouses behind Very good quality watercolour of a road running alongside a river with a bridge leading to warehouses. This painting was produced by laying a wash over a drawn pencil base with a later application of ink lines to highlight the shapes and architectural forms. The colours in the painting, and their integrity are as a result of the mixing of pigments so that the margins stay intact without any significant bleeding. This very simple of watercolours shows the artist's great talent for turning a mundane scene into a splendid work of art. This picture was stored in a portfolio for nearly 60 years and is as fresh now as the day it was painted showing no signs of fading or discolouration.
