Fishing fleet moored at Maitland's Quay North Shields with town and church on hill Superb watercolour of Maitland's quay North Shields. This picture has been painted in pure watercolour on the spot or plein air from nature. The work was produced on dampened paper allowing blending and merging of colours. The shadows from the boat are particularly fine with the whole creating a lovely impressionist scene. This work has been stored in a portfolio for over 50 years and we are confident that the colours portrayed are those which the artist painted
