2 figures in a narrow street scene with tall buildings casting shadows The whole composition is an riot of light and shade with a clever use of shadowing to give the impression of sunlight in a 2 tone picture. The two figures in the shade seem to draw us round the corner of the buildings to discover whats going on out of view. A fine piece of work.

| About the artist
Born: 1926
Died: 1994
Peter Brannan was trained at the Leicester school of art and went on to become an exiting innovative figure painter. He was a member of the Royal Society of British artists and the Lincolnshire society of artists. A retrospective of his work was held at the Goldmark Gallery. He was a regular contributor to magazines of articles on fellow artists. A well loved man but very private.
