Moared boats on a creek
Edward Brannan
approx. exposed area of image inside frame
10in h x 11in w
watercolour on paper
£460 framed
Item number 1828
A creek with boats moored unloading at a warehouse on a tree lined river Beautiful watercolour of a creek off a main waterway This painting has been produced by the application of a series of washes of colour built up to heighten colours and tonal variations. The picture has been produced on the spot or 'plein air' from nature with the artist painting watercolour directly on to wet paper. This allows him to let the colours run at the margins and blend in to the surrounding areas. Note the fine reflections from the water and the overall feeling of wetness about the painting.
