Item number 2743
Watercolour on board of a naked male kneeling looking at his reflection in a pool and holding his hands up in surprise A very fine and rare early watercolour by this internationally renown painter. This early expressionist work shows elements of cubism and his later move to complete abstraction. The limited range of colours simplifies the scene making the man and his surroundings as one. The picture was probably executed in Stuttgart as it is on a board made by Albert Martz, a long established Painting materials retailer. Believed to have been given to Gottfried Heinersdorff by the painter.
