Nude on Ice
Hugh Griffiths
approx. exposed area of image inside frame
16in h x 11in w
oil on canvas
£350 framed
Item number 706
The red hair of this white-skinned nude stands out amidst ice and glaciers The first thing to say about this painting is "WHY" and "what on earth is she doing there". It looks a bit to cold to me for sun bathing but who am I to judge. The iconography of this work is therefore, totally unclear but it’s a great piece of painting in a slightly cubist manner. She has very angular features which I am sure are part of the whole meaning of the picture. Answers on a postcard please.
