Boats at the junction of the Little and Great Stour rivers in Kent
A pen and ink drawing by David Burley. He has a fine feel for pen work and this can be seen in the super quality hatching along the river bank. This also gives great depth to the picture as the river turns the corner away from the viewer.
Plucks Gutter is a small hamlet in Kent near the site of King Alfred's defeat of an invading Viking force. The hamlet gets it's name from a Dutch drainage engineer called Ploeg who is buried in the churchyard.
