A broad river running between two tree lined banks A fine and interesting etching of a broad river and tree lined banks. The work was produced from a copper plate that was carried by the artist, etched on the spot and then taken back to the studio for any reworking and printing. We would refer you to the Glossary for a detailed description of the process of etching. The work is full of richly observed tones with a fine use of light and shade achieved with extensive hatching. The work is initialled in the plate and has full margins.
