A view of West Walton Norfolk - church bell tower and village with a pump in the foreground A fine controlled pencil drawing of St Mary's church. Completed in c1250, it is grade 1 listed. John Betjeman considered that the arcading was "some of the best in England". The campanile, which has recently been restored contains the original 13th century bell frame and bells, is unusual in standing 20 yards south of the church.

| About the artist
Born: 1888
Died: 1964
Brannan was a wonderful draughtsman who sketched his native Lincolnshire. He studied at the Lincoln School of art and was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy. His work is in the Usher Gallery in Lincoln and many private collections. His two sons Noel, and Peter were both professional painters.
