2 Victorian children fish in a stream from a bank in a meadow with cows grazing near a thatched cottage A very fine piece of painting by this eminent Victorian all artist. As with many Victorian painters this watercolour is beautifully observed with a perfect detail and technical excellence. Only pure watercolour has been used and the areas of white are the underlying paper. notice the expressions on the children's faces and the fact that the boy has his bare leg in the stream. This makes for the rich and vibrant work, a delightful period painting.

| About the artist
Born: Working late 19th early 20th C.
Little is known about this late Victorian, early Edwardian watercolour painter. He is recorded as living in Watford in 1905 and his only exhibition details are 5 pictures exhibited in Liverpool. He was, however, a master of the medium and a very popular painter who earned his living by painting commission works.
