Street scene in Waltham in Lincolnshire with a shop with a blind extended Fine etching of a street scene in Waltham. This picture was produced on the spot from a prepared copper plate that was etched and taken back to the studio for printing. As this was an immediate work there would have been no later re-etching to enhance detail. Note the economy of line to indicate the kerb and the lady crossing the street. We would refer you to the Glossary for a detailed description of the process of etching. The work has full margins and is initialled in the plate and signed in pencil below the plate mark.
