Finely shaded profile -probably of a student of the Royal College of Art- perhaps partially bearded

This drawing is typical of the type of work produced in the inter war period when the life blood of painting was to be able to draw. Students were not allowed near oils until they had mastered the techniques of drawing thus ensuring their competency. Would that this were the situation today! We lost the ability to draw some generations back.

Produced while a student at the Royal College of Art.
